Melanie Duguid believes that planning is the first step toward financial independence. She begins every client relationship by exploring their personal values, needs, and commitments. She adheres to a disciplined investment philosophy, avoiding short-term fads and instead focusing on long-term performance and managing risk. With more than two decades of experience in the financial services industry, she is experienced in working with a diverse client base with complex financial and investment needs.
As a Financial Consultant with Coe Financial Group, she works with individuals, families, retirees, and business owners. Many of her clients are experiencing life transitions. Her role is to help them understand and simplify their finances, reduce stress, and prioritize their financial needs. She guides them through an extensive analysis of their current concerns and financial situation and helps them devise a strategy designed to grow their wealth, plan for their family or retirement, reduce their taxes, and develop a comprehensive plan to help them move forward toward their goals.
Prior to joining Coe Financial Group, Melanie worked with Merrill Lynch and Rose and Company Investment Brokers as an Account Executive, providing investment advice to individuals and corporations. Beyond her experience in financial services, she also has more than a decade of experience as an Illinois Certified Real Estate Appraiser.
Melanie holds FINRA Series 7 and 66 securities registrations, as well as Illinois accident, health, and life insurance licenses. She is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner and received her Bachelor of Arts in Cinema from the University of Southern California.
Melanie is actively involved in her community and volunteers with various organizations and events. She is currently the Treasurer of Tri Con Not for Profit Child Care Center. Previously, she has also served on the boards of United Way of the North Shore, Financial Planning Association - North Shore Chapter, and is Past President of the Deerfield Rotary.
Outside of the office, Melanie enjoys spending time with her family and pets, traveling, and playing golf.
